IXwebhosting Reviews, Coupons & Information

I signed up with IXWebhosting several years ago, they seemed to offer great value, and years later I still agree. Everywhere else charges extra for dedicated IP's but here it's the default. (Subdomains are shared, but the parent domain is dedicated.)

My website is fairly basic and only uses 1% of the resources made available to me, so my uptime and bandwidth, etc. has been awesome.

I love the fact that I can call 24x7 with people I think in either Ohio or Kentucky. I have chatted online at times and had an ok experience, but I always get my questions answered in a timely manner. (I never open a ticket because my time to work on the website is limited and when I need something answered, I need it now.) Also, they have gotten me unstuck from a few situations where I made a complete mess of my site.

The only reason I am looking to move elsewhere is the Mysql and PHP versions are too old to handle Drupal 7.0 and I want to use that for my next version of my site. They recently upgraded their own website, and will be upgrading their webmail portals soon (FINALLY!), so I hope they start offering newer versions of Mysql and php soon too. But I am not going to wait around for them to do that. Overall, I recommend it for people whose websites don't need to use much resources.

I have been with IX webhosting since 2005 and I am 100% satisfied. I can not think of one bad thing to say. The price is great, the uptime is great, the features are great and the customer support rocks. In the rare chance that I have to call customer support, not only does a live person answer but they speak English and are super friendly. Their tech support speaks to you like a real person and not like you are a moron for calling, and they are not in a hurry to get you off the phone. They will talk with you and keep you informed until the problem is solved. The last time I had to call was because I screw something up and they even offered suggestions to help me so things would run smoother. They didn't make me feel like it was my fault (even though it was) It is nice to know that customer support is in Columbus, OH and not India. A+++++

I am a developer and have used IX Web Hosting since 2008. I am very impressed with their knowledge and expertise on Linux based systems (Apache, PHP, and MySQL) and currently use them for those services. I cannot speak for Windows. I use a different host (GoDaddy) for Windows based solutions. If you are a developer on Linux systems then I HIGHLY recommend IX Web Hosting. If you are simply an end user looking for a graphic user interface (GUI) solution for Windows, I cannot speak to where IX stands in competency.

In short, IX is a great partner for the IT savvy developer.
